The news out of Ukraine and Gaza this morning could hardly paint a gloomier picture of our world today. No purpose can be served by putting words to the feelings these events create – only a little beauty can help on such a day of loss.
Fittingly, perhaps, the remaining blooms on the Ipomea horsfalliae that I shot in yesterday’s pristine sunshine have disappeared, torn away from the vine’s flailing strands by another Polar blast as it roars its way North.
Stunning flowers to remember those who have been lost, and remind us while there is sadness, there is still beauty. Nice post 🙂
It’s a very sad day, indeed, Meredith. Thanks for the beauty and the thought.
Through beauty we will find our way back to a saner world. Beautiful photos, M! A good way to end the day of such horrors in the world.
Meredith this is such a gentle loving thought at this time of tragedy.
Nice words… and nice shots 🙂
Appropriately, as I was reading this, Meredith, the lyrics “What the world needs now, is love, sweet love, It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of…” came wafting from the radio. Thanks for bringing a little love and beauty today. xxx

You pictures of these flowers are a wonderful tribute to the people who lost their lives on the plane
Ok now for a comment that makes sense::::
I wish more women were in decision making positions,,,I know we could minimize most of these horrible conflicts and avoid these awful conflagrations!
All I can do is share, Meredith.
Meredith, you can’t see me shaking my head from side to side, not knowing what to make of any of it….
Your flowers are beautiful. Keep warm!
It is such a sad time indeed Meredith…thank you for bringing some beauty in to it.
A beautiful post, Meredith. This is a sad time and all the more reason to stop and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us whenever we can.
I’m just afraid to read or listen to news… These beautiful flowers are comforting. Thank you, Meredith!
If only…if only I could stare at these lovely images endlessly and erase the others from my mind.
If only…we could spend our time appreciating these beautiful flowers and not acknowledging the horrors that are around us
If only…for a few minutes the beauty that these flowers are can wash over us and wipe away our tears.
Thank you, Meredith, for letting me think of these special flowers…if only for a short while.
We all need beauty to take away from all the horrible pain and suffering in this world a lot that sadly can be avoided and is caused by man.
There is still much good to be found in the world, but it’s getting harder to find. Thank you for sharing some of the beauty from your corner of the world.
Your beautiful blooms are balm for the soul Meredith. Hope your winter is treating you well.
Beautiful thoughts and images.
Very nice pictures of some beautiful flowers.
