A Bit of a Tilt

Playing catch-up still, for Ailsa’s Tilted Challenge last week I wanted to stay with black and white, and return to Venice – an eternal source of inspiration and stimulation.

From gondola level it seemed as though even more things are at a bit of a tilt than the occasionally over-loaded traghetto, or the ubiquitous tilted pilings, and at the gondola factory we came across a pair of the flat-bottomed boats on their side – fully tilted!

  1. Stunning tilted shots for sure and they look great in B&W too! Great entry for the challenge hon. 😀 *hugs*

  2. Weird synchronicity! This week, I’ve been reading a novel set in Venice: The Abomination by Jonathon Holt. Your pics have brought many of his descriptions to life for me…I love when that happens!

    • The Abomination? I must go straight over to Amazon and have a look – i always like to read books set in places I know and/or love. So glad to add a bit of monotone mood for you – you’ll be pleased to see a few more today then!

    • The vaults have quite a lot of green markers sticking up by now, EllaDee, but you’re right, there’s always a new take on an old subject, and with the editing tools we have now so easy to create a fresh perspective. So glad you enjoyed these 🙂

    • I’m becoming a real monotone fan, Christine! I’m rushing again, but hope to pop over to see what you’ve been up to. I’ve told the Immigration Department to cancel my visa on 31 August – with an actual deadline I’m in a frenzy of last days 🙂

  3. Ah, Venice again… how I long to go back and wander its magical canals (and alleyways too). Meredith, your mastery of black and white is a real inspiration!
