Simplicity, Thy Name is Lily

Staying with flowers, but reverting to my developing interest in black and white images, when I saw Ailsa’s Travel Theme this week all I could think of was arum lilies (Zantedeschia aethiopica) – simplicity, thy name is Lily!

– or, perhaps, Lotus

… thy name is lotus

Pop over to see Ailsa’s gorgeous, artless simplicity …

  1. Stunning shots TWG and the B&W give them that extra beautiful simplicity. Great entry for the challenge. 😀 *hugs*

  2. Great photos, contrast of B/W very effective.
I too love Lilies, and their scent, unfortunate they have a morbid connotation through use as funerial flower of choice…I wonder why?

  3. I’m hard pressed to choose… since I was little I’ve loved arum lilies… they we’re quite common in the country. Lotus, not so 😊

  4. I’m very new at blogging but not that new in writing around my photos. As yourself, by joining WordPress, I decided to ‘expose’ myself and step out from all my Shutterfly family photo books. Lately I’ve been working on B&W technique and, by coincidence, have also shot some Lilies and Lotus…and so your post got my eyes. Lovely shots and post processing, if any. Very nice blog overall. Will follow you to keep in touch.

    • Beatriz – thanks so much! I’ll be over just as soon as I can sit at the computer for more than a couple of minutes without the back pain returning – I’d love to see your lilies and lotus. I did post process the lotus for conversion to monotone – the arum’s of course had enough drama in their white spathe! 🙂
