Shadows and Shade

The eye delights in contrasts.  Dancing shadows across a wide flatscreen entrance and entertain us for hours.  Here, in Paradise, the shade of shadows proclaims ‘cool’, and we congregate, grateful for respite from the sun.

A few Swiss and Lankan shadows in response to Ailsa’s Travel Theme this week.

  1. A very nice collection and one that again reminds me of the Summer to come. Here in Winter, there are no leafy trees to cast a shadow other than that caused by bare limbs. When the Sun is out, everything is in such sharp contrast, especially after a snowfall. Your photos show how shade can vary, depending upon the leafy canopy overhead. We’ll get there. 🙂

    • I’m going to miss the tuk tuks, that’s for sure. I don’t know why we can’t have them in ‘the west’ – such versatile little things in the traffic, and they seem to be able to go anywhere.

  2. So kind of nature to provide us with trees for a hot day – unless it’s that humid heat for which there is no relief except a swim or a trip to the mall for air conditioned air.
